eCampus Ontario: Humanizing Virtual Learning
Project
Working within a multidisciplinary team, I supported the development of the course "Humanizing Virtual Learning" in alignment with eCampus Ontario’s standards for effective digital learning in adult education. My focus was on transforming content into engaging, interactive learning experiences that reflect best practices in adult learning and online pedagogy.
I designed and developed interactive components such as scenario-based activities, knowledge checks, and visually structured content that guided learners through complex concepts. I also contributed to the overall learning experience by applying instructional design models (e.g., ADDIE), ensuring accessibility considerations, and aligning interactions with clear learning outcomes.
This project required balancing pedagogical integrity with creative design, ensuring that interactions were not only engaging but also purposeful and aligned with real-world application.

Its modular format allows learners to navigate through the material non-linearly according to their needs, thereby supporting both exploration and targeted learning in an interactive learning environment offered by eCampus Ontario.

Rather than passive content, the experience in adult education emphasizes active engagement through eCampus Ontario's interactive learning approach, which includes scenario-based thinking, reflection prompts, and real-world application.
Designed to Model Best Practices
A key design decision was to make the course itself a living example of effective online learning, particularly in the context of adult education. Throughout the experience, learners can see how and why design choices were made—bridging theory and practice in a way that enhances interactive learning.
Accessibility & Inclusion
Accessibility and inclusive design principles were embedded throughout adult education initiatives: clear structure and chunked content, multiple ways to engage with material, and consideration for diverse teaching and learning contexts in eCampus Ontario, promoting interactive learning.
